Recently, I stumbled upon a paper on ‘Emergent mathematical thinking in the context of play‘. It is written by the preeminent Bert van Oers, and contains 20 self-citations out of 39! A record for a peer-reviewed article. The all time high is still set by Werner Kulicke’s conference proceedings, of which I wrote a few years ago, with a whopping 23 out of 29!
